A very beautiful pair of antique 17th-century Baroque period hand-carved giltwood Italian sconces made with gold leaf technique. The corner base is finely carved as acanthus leaves with a pine motif as the final detail up and down. In the middle of each sconce, there is a plain giltwood band that covers a metal band with holes where one can place the sconce’s arm. Each sconce includes one antique and original arm, but additional arms can be made upon request. Both arms feature a very sinuous and curvy shape, emphasized by a curl on both sides and embellished by richly stylized giltwood leaf patterns. Fully decorative scrolled floral work giltwood bobeches complete the design. Newly wired, these sconces are in perfect condition with a beautiful original patina, and the brightly gold gilt bronze arm will create a scintillating atmosphere. These corner wall lights originate from a private house in Florence, where the owner appreciated their shape so much that they commissioned a set of wall brackets with a similar design. Measurements of each sconce: Width: 19 cm, Height: 38 cm, Depth: 11 cm. Measurements of the arm: Width: 46 cm, Height: 21 cm.
