Vintage coffee table - My Home Bas van Pelt (chrome and wood) 1930s

DESCRIPTION: A timeless mid-century coffee table designed by Bas van Pelt (1900-1945). In 1931, Bas van Pelt became the owner of the shop "my home furnishings" in The Hague, which he transformed into a leading business in the field of modern home furnishings. He was known for his functionalist designs and the production of his own furniture. He played an important role in the Dutch design world of the interwar period. The coffee table has a chrome tubular frame that flows seamlessly into the top. The solid wooden top is finished with a walnut veneer, which gives the table a beautiful, warm character. An aluminum edge surrounds the top. The table is marked on the bottom. In short, a beautiful piece of designer furniture for those who appreciate the work of this timeless designer. DIMENSIONS: Height: 50cm. Height under the top: 48cm. Diameter: 70.5cm. CONDITION: In good condition. The top had some spots and has been sanded and re-varnished.
