Important antique American desk in carved wood – circa 1900 –

Rare and imposing American antique desk, made of solid wood, dating from the late 19th century. This characterful piece of furniture stands out for its all-around structure, allowing for placement in the centre of a room, as well as its rich carved decoration of scrolls and floral motifs on the apron. It features a symmetrical composition with two side cabinets with drawers, providing generous storage space, and a wide rectangular top with beautiful proportions. An original label is preserved in the central drawer mentioning a company specialising in office furniture, located at 391 Broadway, New York. The presence of an old telephone number (“Phone Canal”) helps to date the distribution of the piece before the 1930s, confirming its antiquity and American origin. Dimensions. Length: approx. 180 cm.
