Eclectic antique mahogany mirror, Italy, 19th century

Large freestanding mirror made in the last quarter of the 19th century, with a marked eclectic taste. The structure of the frame, very architectural, features a double arch at the top on which rests a large hexagonal reserve with a blue-painted background, adorned with sculpted and gilded putti. At the two highest points of the mirror, sculpted dragons face each other, also gilded. On the sides of the mirror, sculpted dragons with Gothic turrets are applied. Two coats of arms are then applied, one of which is recognisable as the arms of the Visconti. Mahogany veneer with painted and gilded parts. Touch-ups in the gilding.
