Sublime collector's piece in barbotine (late 19th century) signed by the famous Belgian manufacture Nimy (Lecat & Cie stamp). This large antique jug features a decor with prominent reliefs: two exotic birds nestled in flowering foliage, set against a textured turquoise blue background. The originality of this piece lies in its old repairs, which give it a unique soul: the base has been reinforced and the original handle has been replaced with a patinated metal handle. This modification, perfectly integrated into the structure, gives it a cabinet of curiosities look and a very interesting contrast of materials. The raspberry pink interior and the collar with a brown trellis pattern complete this Art Nouveau aesthetic. Despite its "scars" that testify to its history, the glaze retains an exceptional shine. A characterful object for lovers of authentic antiques. Height: 22cm Diameter: 16cm.
