Firewall/Spark arrester at the Marolles Workshops

Wrought iron fire screen/spark guard from the marolles workshops/jean touret/henri vion/1950s welded and beaten metal frame structured into compartments in which is housed a bestiary of stylized animals in hammered metal sheets jean touret, painter and sculptor, settled in the village of marolles near blois after his return from the war. There he discovered craft work and created a cooperative with the village craftsmen (carpenter, basket maker, potter, and henri vion, ironworker) of which he became the artistic director. This association produced furniture and decorative objects by combining know-how, inventing a new aesthetic based on ancient traditions, and developing an economic model that went against the flow of flourishing industrialization.
