Vintage Gispen office chair from the 1960s, industrial Hoffmann.

Swivel office chair with adjustable height on a four-legged steel base with rubber tips (version P). Made by the Dutch company Gispen. This rare version of the Gispen 359 P was designed in the 1950s by designer Christoffel Hoffmann. Hoffmann was commissioned by Gispen in the 1950s to study the American office chair market; the steel structure of the chair is inspired by American office chairs. The base of the chair is made of metal and wood panels covered with fabric. The height of the chair is adjustable as well as the angle of the backrest. The example we have in our collection is in good condition: we have cleaned and lubricated the metal parts as necessary. The upholstery and cover have been replaced with high-quality black corduroy fabric, also known as Manchester fabric. The chair is ready to be used.
