Monumental wall sconce in carved and bent wood, the work of Vincent Gonzalez (1928-2019), a French sculptor and designer renowned for his exploration of organic form and light. Length: 200 cm. Structure formed from a ribbon of curved and openwork solid wood, articulated in interlocking curves and dynamic points, evoking the movement and tension of natural forms. Particularly masterful interplay of solids and voids, typical of Gonzalez's formal vocabulary in the late 1960s and 1970s. Electrification discreetly integrated into the structure (screw-in bulb). Superb sculpting and hand-finishing, original patina, very good overall condition.
