Fuga wall sconces

Designed by Finnish industrial designer Maija Liisa Komulainen (born in 1922), inspired by the organ pipes of a church. The sconce consists of a brushed aluminium tube that has been cut diagonally. The interior is enamelled white. The light escapes like a crescent moon and casts a soft arc on the wall behind it. This creates an interesting dynamic between industrial design and sacred inspiration. Raak Amsterdam was known for its collaboration with avant-garde designers in the 1960s and 70s. The Fuga is one of their most recognisable models. The mounting bracket has been reproduced according to the original design. About half of the units we were able to obtain have the original label inside. Two E27 porcelain sockets per unit. Good vintage condition; varies by unit. Small scratches on the aluminium and slight stains and scratches on the enamel.
