A rare piece by the master of scandinavian glass: a drop vase with a classic organic modernist design designed by per lutken for holmegaard. Variation in three colors not found. It has no cracks or scratches. It's beautiful. This glass artwork is entirely mouth-blown in denmark in holmegaard's studio. It dates from 1956/1957. It weighs 2500g. Per lütken (1916-1998) was the unrivalled master of danish glass design and one of holmegaard's most advanced glass designers. He worked at the holmegaard glass factory from 1942 until his death in 1998 and brought to life more than 3, 000 glass creations. Many of its ranges have become classics and are synonymous with the quality for which holmegaard is renowned. Per lütken was the great inspiring figure of the holmegaard glass factory. He was known for his perfectionism and was very demanding of glassblowers. If they complained that his creations were too difficult to blow into the glass, lütken's ambitious response was always: "well, who said things were supposed to be easy?" According to per lütken, glasses must have a certain natural weight, and they must ooze craftsmanship. With this philosophy, he created the thick and soft lip lenses for the no. 5 (1970), ship's glass (1971), idéelle (1978) and charlotte amalie (1981) ranges.
