Elegant display cabinet in Louis XVI style made of precious wood veneer (mahogany/rosewood), dating from the late 19th century or very early 20th century. This living room or dining room furniture perfectly embodies neoclassical refinement with its straight, sober, and geometric lines. The front opens with a large glazed door (functional key lock) framed by superb veneer work with contrasting wood grains. The gilded bronze ornamentation is finely chiselled: it features typical attributes of the style such as rosettes and leafy drops at the upper corners of the frame. The interior offers a beautiful display space thanks to its height-adjustable glass shelves on wooden brackets. The back is cleverly upholstered with original jacquard/damask fabric featuring garland and floral crown patterns, ideal for reflecting light and showcasing your art objects, antique books, crystal glasses, or silverware. The piece rests on a discreet and elegant straight base. General condition: Very good state of preservation. The wood has a beautiful shiny patina, the glass and shelves are impeccable, and the interior fabric is clean and sound. Style: Louis XVI / Directory / Napoleon III. Materials: Mahogany veneer, glass, gilded bronze, jacquard fabric.
