Antique display cabinet in elm burl and gilded bronze - Napoleon III style
Superb antique display cabinet with a particularly refined character, made from magnificent elm burl with very rich and decorative grain, and enhanced with numerous finely crafted gilded bronzes. The façade is particularly remarkable: plant ornaments, sculpted motifs, medallions with female face decorations, mouldings, and bronze details create a very elegant and theatrical ensemble, typical of the historicist taste associated with the Napoléon III style. The glazed section perfectly showcases a collection of glassware, porcelain, art objects, books, or decorative pieces. It features two height-adjustable glass shelves, allowing for easy interior arrangement. The lower part, closed by a wooden door, also offers a more discreet storage space. A piece with a true decorative presence, ideal for adding character to a living room, dining room, library, office, or hallway. It can also become a superb display cabinet for collections. Particularly appreciated is the contrast between the depth and nuances of the elm burl and the gilded bronzes, which give this cabinet a very elegant and precious appearance. Dimensions: H. 175 cm × W. 88 cm × D. 40 cm. Note: the back panel is currently missing, an element to consider before purchase. The edges of the two glass shelves have some chips/nicks, without affecting their sturdiness or usability.
