This mahogany display case was, when it was acquired, a central mirror cabinet from the Louis Philippe period. This central mirror, which had been bent, was placed at the back and replaced by a pane of glass to serve as a display case. There are two drawers at the bottom, the last of which is invisible, as it blends into the feet. This cabinet was recovered from a religious community and restored by a cabinetmaker in 1994 (invoice provided) who redid the veneer.
