Antique Renaissance-style Display Cabinet / Bookcase – Carved Wood – H 190 cm. Imposing display cabinet in richly carved solid wood, in Renaissance / Henry II style, opening with a glass door. A character piece with architectural decorations and deep sculpted details. Dimensions: Height: 190 cm. Width: 90 cm. Depth: 51 cm. Detailed description: Structure in dark brown stained solid wood (walnut), with a beautiful antique patina. Decorative elements: Wide moulded cornice with repetitive sculpted frieze. Fluted columns framing the door. Sculpted capitals with volutes. Richly decorated lower panel with a central relief motif (cartouche, foliage, and volutes) Sculpted plinth. Front feet decorated with stylised masks. Glass door framed with mouldings, built-in lock (see photo). Interior in light veneer including: 2 glass shelves. 1 low wooden shelf. Interior back in light wood veneer providing a beautiful contrast with the dark exterior. Condition: Structure is sound and stable. Visible wear and signs of use (scratches, abrasions, small dents). Back shows signs of age. Lock is present. No structural breakage. Condition consistent with age. Style / Period: Renaissance / Henry II style. Produced in the late 19th or early 20th century.
