Painting by Edouard Pannetier (1884-1965) Mediterranean Marine

Painting signed by the hand of edouard ec pannetier (1884-1965): see attached bio. Very beautiful pastel, extremely bright for this work representing a mediterranean seascape (perhaps in algeria where the artist stayed and worked). Very good condition (a small trace of tape at the bottom right but which goes unnoticed). Sold with its frame of excellent quality (with anti-reflective glass). Provenance: artist's family. Dimensions of the view: 24 / 30 cm, with frame: 39 / 49 cm for any additional questions or to send a photo: sylvere.carlier@neuf.fr edouard-emmanuel-charles pannetier, provençal and orientalist painter, was born on november 6, 1884 in clermont-ferrand (auvergne). Orphaned by his father, he began his artistic studies at the ecole des beaux-arts in his hometown and then at the ecole des arts décoratifs in paris. Trained as a drawing teacher, he worked for a few years in algeria at the lycée lamoricière in oran between 1910 and 1920. Back in france, he worked as a drawing teacher at the lycée d'aix-en-provence around 1930. He painted many landscapes and genre scenes from algeria and provence. For the rest, he illustrated several literary works, highlighting the novel “atala” by chateaubriand in its 1946 edition. He died in rueil-malmaison, near paris, on october 14, 1965, at the age of 80.
