Cylinder desk with a glazed upper section, made of mahogany and mahogany veneer, in the Louis XVI style, early 19th century. The upper part consists of two glazed doors opening onto a storage space, topped with a white marble shelf bordered by a pierced brass gallery. The supports are adorned with vertical fluting. The cylinder features a veneer with pronounced grain. Once opened, it reveals an interior fitted with small drawers and compartments, as well as a drop-down writing surface, covered with an old dark upholstery. The frieze includes three drawers. The piece rests on four tapered legs, finished with brass caps. Lock entries, handles, and decorative elements are also in brass. The desk is preserved in its original condition, with signs of use, scratches, wear to the finish, and visible marks corresponding to its age. The upholstery of the writing surface is marked. The photographs also show some repairs or small accidents to the veneer and moulding. Dimensions: 94 cm wide × 132 cm high × 48 cm deep.
