Pair of Spanish accent chairs from the early 20th century, richly decorative, characterized by their pronounced fluted structure and beautifully patinated surfaces. Each chair is distinguished by four massive posts, composed of rounded and repeated flutes, giving the structures a pronounced sculptural rhythm. The high backs are connected by two horizontally profiled crossbars with subtle openwork details, while finely turned stretchers connect the legs. The dark beech structures have developed a rich and warm patina, marked by wear, variations in hue, and signs of time. In contrast, the seats made of woven rush provide a lighter natural texture, with a tight geometric pattern that complements the assertive character of the structures. With rather small dimensions and not very comfortable for prolonged use, these chairs are more intended to be considered as decorative accent chairs rather than everyday seating. Their compact proportions and striking silhouettes make them particularly appealing in an entryway, bedroom, or living room, where they can serve both as sculptural objects and accent seating. Particularly attractive in pairs, they combine the robust character of traditional Spanish furniture with an almost playful repetition of forms.
