Official print from the Chalcography of the Louvre representing "Palais du Louvre (The Opera)", an allegorical scene based on a drawing by Boulanger, engraved by François. This theatrical composition features a lavish representation in the heart of the Louvre gardens, surrounded by classical columns, ornamental vases, fruits, and drapery. In the background, the courtyard witnesses a ballet, set in an imaginary decor blending symbolism and royal grandeur. This is a later 20th-century print, made from the original plate preserved in the collections of the Chalcography of the Louvre. The museum's dry stamp, visible under the title, attests to its authenticity. Intaglio print on vergé paper, mounted under a mat and presented under glass in an antique gilded frame (dimensions: 52 x 42 cm). The paper shows some foxing, and the frame is in generally good condition with signs of use.
