Thomas-charles naudet is said to be a student of the painter hubert robert and very influenced by jean-jacques de boissieu; he produces drawings, gouaches, watercolors, pastels and around fifty etchings. Under the name "charles naudet", thomas-charles appeared at the salon in 1795 and 1798, presenting landscape gouaches. His presence at the salon is also attested in 1799, 1808 and, posthumously, in 1810; he sent landscapes inspired by italy and some large historical images of the revolution and the empire. Around 1805, naudet accompanied his friend the danish naturalist tønnes christian bruun-neergaard (1776-1824) on trips through italy, spain, germany and switzerland and produced nearly 3, 000 views in the company of louis-françois cassas. In 1806, he stayed with his friend ingres in rome at the villa medici thanks to a scholarship from the académie des beaux-arts.
