Office jacques hauville/ Edition roche-bobois. Year50/60 in walnut france. Red velvet drawer interior. On the right a deep drawer and on the left 2 independent drawers. Very good general condition (light wear is consistent with age and use) Classic and elegant this desk will be placed everywhere, space-saving, a sober line of scandinavian inspiration, by one of the most sought-after french designers of the 60s. After attending the ecole supérieure des arts et métiers, jacques hauville completed his training in marcel gascoin's workshop. In 1945, he set up his first stand at the salon de l'aviation before setting up his own business with the collaboration of georges dalberto, creating bema (bureau d'etudes modernes appliquées) in 1947. That same year, hauville participated in the international exhibition of urban planning and housing in the section of standard apartments, which earned him to be presented in the model housing of toulon, but it is really at the salon des arts ménagers of 1948 that he presents his first complete set of furniture. From then on, jacques hauville responded to multiple private commissions and designed many pieces of furniture for publishers such as doubinsky frères, mbo, athéna, or even later roche-bobois.
