Opera Guru

Guru that I called opera or even operetta because of his costume and snarky air. I am very fond of these portraits of gurus. India, as we know, has thousands of gods, only a few of whom are useful in everyday life. But india still has thousands of gurus, ascetics and sadhus. The advantage over the gods is that each generation sees new ones hatch. Every home in india has a photograph of the guru(s) of the family. These photographs are made in local studios, often for free, as these characters are respected. I have a small collection of guru portraits that I share here. Pigment print 24 X 30 cm made in our parisian workshop by our master shooter on ultrasmooth archival 260g paper. Limited edition of 99 titled and numbered prints in the pencil margin.
