After studying at the national lycée d'arts plastiques in wroclaw, he worked at the théâtre des marionnettes in the same city as a decorator. Established in france in 1981, selected and awarded at the grands prix internationaux, he has devoted himself exclusively to painting since 1990. Painter in residence at the jb de la salle high school in lyon, he teaches painting techniques as part of the visual arts program. In 2009, he created "atelier espace pastel" renamed since "atelier jerzy m." intended to teach painting to a wide audience. First prize of the society of pastelists of france in 2014, he was one of nine french artists invited, in 2015, to the first international pastel festival in suzhou, china. In 2016 he was one of four international instructors chosen to teach pastel to chinese art teachers as part of a pilot program organized by china pastel network, beijing education center and international association of pastel societies. In 2016, he exhibited at the 2nd international pastel biennial at ming gallery of art in suzhou. His paintings are part of the collections of the pastel museum in china. Regularly invited by les pastellistes de france, he obtained, in 2018, the “jury’s favorite prize” at the 18th international pastel festival in feytiat (87). In 2019 he was named master pastelist by the society of pastelists of france.
