Note a damage to the frame) Magnificent light in our forest. Marius Gueit (1877-1956) is a painter from Bordeaux. He is a student of Louis Cabié. He began his career as a decorative painter, through which he discovered techniques and material effects as well as composition. Following in the footsteps of Louis Auguste Auguin, Marius Gueit soon became a recognised landscape painter. He roams the Arcachon Basin, the Landes of Gascony, and the Basque Country. With a keen eye, Marius Gueit knows how to convey his feelings about nature in his compositions, skillfully handling impasto, light, and shadow. Marius Gueit regularly exhibits at the Société des amis des arts in Bordeaux, at the Salon des artistes français, and at the Atelier exhibitions.
