Magnificent and rare lamp signed with Agnes Escala's initials. This stoneware owl, by the artist, features soft beige and brown tones and dates from the 1970s. The exquisite craftsmanship lends a unique character to this zoomorphic ceramic piece. The slits across its body and around its eyes, like feathers, allow soft light to filter through, diffusing golden reflections and revealing the beauty of this nocturnal bird. Agnès Escala was an artist based in Lavalette, near Toulouse. She produced ceramics in her studio there from 1963 to 1991. Agnès Escala's original creations are now highly prized by collectors.
