Vintage Walter Gerhards lamp – model 7055-50 – Fat Lava – West Germany, with silk shade

This sculptural table lamp combines a glazed ceramic base from the 60s and 70s, stamped Made in W. Germany (reference 7055-50), with a high-end lampshade, handcrafted in a geometric silk fabric. Attributed to the designer Walter Gerhards, this piece is emblematic of the Fat Lava style, with its volcanic enamels (brown, orange, olive green), its side handles and its openwork decorations which transform it into a true light sculpture.
