The design of this slender and elegant safari chair by erik wørtz sits within a long tradition of safari chairs. From eileen gray to kaare klint and elias svedberg, a lot of great designers have made versions of self-assembled furniture, which most likely found its origin in indian roorkhee chairs used by the british military. This safari chair by erik wortz has a minimal design with nice proportions and detailing. The seat, back and armrests are suspended with patinated dark black leather. Rosewood frame has rounded legs, with refined curved feet and detailing at the top. The padded armrests hang from two brass rings. A beautiful grain is visible in the wooden slats and legs. Not only is this chair aesthetically pleasing it also sits very comfortably... Condition - the original leather seat has many years left, but shows its 50+ years of use, with some cracking in the leather. Leather seat and armrests have been re-coloured black. Frame is in a fantastic condition with almost no visible wear. See photos.
