Magnificent candle holder of mid-century Scandinavian design. This is a modernist candle holder made of solid silver/chromed metal, designed by the famous Danish sculptor and designer Jens Quistgaard for the brand Dansk Designs. This model was produced in polished stainless steel (or silvered/chromed metal depending on the series), a material that Quistgaard loved to work with for its very futuristic mirror-like appearance typical of Space Age design. It is cast in polished solid metal, giving it significant weight and a superb shine. This iconic hourglass or inverted diabolo shape is emblematic of Jens Quistgaard's work. It combines a heavy, stable conical base with a sleek cylindrical receptacle, connected by a fine and elegant neck. 1960s. With a hallmark inscribed in reverse: "DANSK DESIGNS / FRANCE / IHQ".
