Antique chair, late 19th century lounge chair

Beautiful antique low chair, also known as a nursing chair. It was once used to feed children at their level, and also served as a comfortable chair, allowing one to fully enjoy the warmth of the hearth. The frame is made of turned wood painted black, with small, functional casters on each leg for easy mobility. The seat is padded without springs (it sags slightly when seated) and covered in a caramel beige burlap fabric with white floral patterns. Matching trim and tassels complete the look.
