H. Bequet Java model plate

A decorative Belgian earthenware plate signed H. Bequet, from the “Java” pattern, recognizable by its elegant scalloped shape and sumptuous hand-painted polychrome floral decoration. The particularly expressive composition blends large orange flowers, powder pink peonies, delicate small bouquets, and bluish foliage in a balance that is at once generous, luminous, and highly refined. Each brushstroke reveals meticulous craftsmanship, typical of the factory's finest decorative pieces. The plate bears the handwritten stamp A36 Java H Bequet, as well as an "E" mark embedded in the clay, a true technical marker of mold production, guaranteeing the piece's authenticity and traceability within the Quaregnon workshops. Founded in 1934, the Hubert Bequet earthenware factory is renowned for its richly colored decorative pieces, produced primarily during the 1950s and 1960s, the factory's golden age. The Java model is one of the most decorative series and today one of the hardest to find in good condition. Beautiful vintage condition, vibrant colors, glossy enamel. No cracks or chips.
