very rare pyramid floor lamp designed by harco loor for harco loor design, the netherlands, 1980s. this remarkable model combines a large translucent pyramid-shaped shade with a graphic black metal structure and a substantial transparent plexiglass base. particularly striking is the way the wide shade rests on just four extremely slender metal rods. this delicate construction makes the large pyramid appear to float above the base, giving the lamp an impressive sense of lightness and balance. between the four supports runs a distinctive undulating element, adding an organic and playful contrast to the strict geometry of the shade. when illuminated, the translucent shade produces a beautiful warm glow and casts both direct and indirect light across the surrounding wall. the lamp is in good vintage condition, with very minor signs of age and use. the plexiglass shade and base remain well preserved, while the black metal structure shows some local surface wear consistent with its age. an exceptionally rare and distinctive example of dutch postmodern lighting design with a strong architectural presence.
