Bronze and marble guéridon, Psyche and Cupid, Auguste Moreau (1834-1917)

Patinated bronze group by Auguste Moreau, originally and initially mounted as a guéridon, then later adapted into a table, the model was created in the 19th century, as shown in one of the images. The top features a wonderful antique and original gallery in granite and gilded bronze by Rosa Porrino, while the base, resting on four gilded bronze feet, has likely been changed recently. The bronze group depicting Cupid and Psyche is signed "Ate Moreau" for Auguste Moreau (1834-1917). It is dedicated and dated 7th February 1884. It was offered as "A tribute to the talent of Victor Warce, to the subscribers of the Royal Theatre of Antwerp."
