Hairdresser, Art Deco buffet
Delicate Art Deco oak dressing table from the 1930s or 1940s. It features two side doors and a central door topped with a drawer (all open easily). The top is made of MDF, custom cut and painted in a light, warm shade, then protected with a clear varnish. The original beveled mirror, adjustable and removable, is adorned with two metal fixings with floral patterns. The wood has been thoroughly cleaned, sanded, and protected with antique wax. The interior has been kept in raw wood. The side parts are equipped with the original removable small shelves. The central part has been fitted with a removable MDF shelf, painted in the same shade as the top. The bottom of the drawer has been lined with high-quality wallpaper featuring shell patterns. Note: this item is an antique sold second-hand and artisanally restored. It naturally shows irregularities as well as signs of age and use. This is precisely what gives it charm and a unique character. In particular: - There are some traces of woodworm, notably on the underside of the furniture. However, a treatment against wood-eating insects has been carried out, and the wood is now healthy. - Inside, the wooden shelves and the bottom of the furniture, although cleaned and sanded, show some marks and small stains related to their age and use. - The mirror's backing shows some missing spots and signs of pitting on the upper part, which attest to its authenticity (see photos). - A few woodworm holes and a small missing piece in a groove of the left door had previously been filled with neutral wax. They remain visible up close but do not detract from the aesthetics of the furniture (see photos). Delivery by my usual carrier is possible - please send me a message before purchasing :)
