Yngve Ekström "Thea" Serving Trolley, Sweden

"Thea" serving trolley by Yngve Ekström, Sweden, 1950s/60s: white-painted frame, teak and laminate surfaces, folding drop leaves. ‘Thea’ service trolley, designed by Yngve Ekström, one of the leading figures of Swedish modernism and co-founder of Swedese. The wooden frame, with tapered legs and curved joints secured by exposed screws, retains its original white finish. In the centre of the upper shelf, made of white, water-resistant laminate, there is a teak drop-down panel with a carved handle, which can be folded down to save space. Lower shelf in teak, turned handrails and swivelling metal castors. Good condition. May show some signs of age. Please refer to the photographs. AF109
