Buffet ribbank of Flanders or the Netherlands, seventeenth century

An essential piece of furniture in flanders and northern countries, the ribbank is in the form of a sideboard opening most often with two doors under which two drawers form the belt of the furniture. Their decoration is inspired, as for the one we present, by renaissance forms: fruit and flower falls, ribbon knots and mascarons on strongly molded panels and crowned with imposing cornices. Resting on four ball legs in stained black wood, this ribbank is in excellent condition.
