Pottery pitcher of La Borne in glazed stoneware art populaire

The pitcher is in very good condition, no accidents, no cracks or splinters. It is in glazed stoneware, with beautiful glossy enamel embellished with a very pictorial free decoration of almond green projections, on a reddish brown background, all very slightly iridescent. Very beautiful shape with flared base, evoking a diabolo, with spout and handle of generous proportions. The pottery is marked on the reverse at la borne point, as well as initials. It therefore comes from la borne, village of potters located in the cher, between sologne and sancerrois, place of ceramic creation since the twelfth century, well known for the qualities of its sandstone, and whose reputation of some workshops is well established. Production of the late 50s, early 60s.
