Secretary “CU07” by Cees Braakman for Pastoe – a 1950s Japanese series

CU07 secretary desk designed by Cees Braakman for Pastoe, produced in the 1950s. An iconic model from the Japanese series, recognizable by its clean design and balanced lines. It rests on a very thin, black lacquered metal base, characteristic of the minimalist style of this collection. The handles, also black, are recessed, typical of this series. The front of the drop-front is white lacquered, and when opened, it reveals an ideal storage space for papers and supplies. The piece is in very good condition for its age and perfectly illustrates the work of Cees Braakman, a major figure in post-war Dutch design.
