pair of Wassiily armchairs by Marcel Breuer for Gavina - 1960s

Magnificent pair of Wassily chairs designed by Marcel Breuer in the 1920s when he was at the helm of the Bauhaus. This chair was a revolution for its time as it is made of curved tubular steel and leather, materials that were relatively inexpensive at the time. The manufacturing method is also very clever and therefore easy to reproduce. It was first mass-produced by Gavina in the 1940s and then by Knoll International in the 1990s. The two chairs are in very good vintage condition. They show no damage or missing parts. However, they do have some signs of wear related to age but mainly feature a beautiful patina.
