La Fonda Chair by Charles & Ray Eames for Herman Miller 1970s

La Fonda chair designed by Charles and Ray Eames for Herman Miller, circa 1970s. The chair features an original fiberglass shell with a brown upholstered front and stands on the characteristic La Fonda base in lacquered aluminium. The La Fonda base was originally developed for the famous La Fonda del Sol restaurant in New York and provides an elegant and stable base that contrasts nicely with the organic shape of the shell. The visible fiberglass texture on the back is characteristic of the early production of these Eames chairs. The chair remains in good vintage condition with light signs of use consistent with its age. Two chairs available, price per piece.
