6 vintage Chinese deep plates

Set of six vintage Chinese porcelain deep plates from the 60s/70s, featuring a design of large stylised carp reminiscent of koi carp. On a very pale celadon blue background, almost aquatic, each fish generously unfolds at the centre of the plate in a range of deep blues. Hatched scales, long fins, barbels, and free lines give the decoration a graphic presence. Small variations in design and intensity of blue from one plate to another. Made in China with ideograms and a mark on the back of each plate. Diameter 20 cm, height 4.5 cm. In beautiful vintage condition, with slight manufacturing irregularities and signs of age (see photos). A rare almost calligraphic carp design in a deep plate version.
