Danish XL ice bucket 'Congo' by Jens Quistgaard for Dansk Design, 1950s

Danish ice bucket 'Congo' designed by Jens Quistgaard in 1954. It was made in solid teak by Dansk Design. The ice bucket was made in 3 different heights, of which this one is the highest with a height of almost 50 cm (!). This makes it more of a work of art than a utilitarian object, which is why it has rightly earned a place in the collection of the MoMA (Museum of Modern Art) in New York. The ice bucket is in good condition. There is a little bit of damage to the wood at the edge (see photo) but this is certainly not disturbing. At the bottom is the stamp of the manufacturer 'Dansk Design'
