Charming antique ironstone tureen, late 19th century, decorated with the "marguerite" motif in a lovely sepia brown. This piece is stamped "grand dépôt - 21 rue drouot paris / succursale marseille", a famous distributor of porcelain and art earthenware around 1900. The japanese-style floral decoration, very fashionable during the belle époque, is finely printed underglaze. Note the sculpted handle of the lid. The whole decoration, handle and bases is elegant and decorative. Perfect as a centerpiece, diverted into a vase or simply displayed in a display case of antique tableware. Stamp visible under the base. Good condition, a small chip on the edge of the lid (visible in the photos), without fragility. Beautiful shine of the enamel and also a hairline crack also visible in the photos. Dimensions: length with handles 29 cm height with lid: 20 cm.
