Wonderful directoire sideboard in blond cherry. Very beautiful patina. With its simple and elegant curves and its particular shine, it creates a real "wow" effect! It opens with 3 drawers mounted in dovetail and with a beautiful front decorated with round handles in gilded bronze. We note a restoration of the lower left corner of the left drawer. The three beautiful doors open onto two spaces: a smaller one on the right, with its thick original shelf mounted on a rack; a larger one on the left, also with an original shelf. The two doors open onto the same space, the one on the left being attached by a hook to the shelf and the other closing thanks to its lock and beautiful palm tree key in gilded bronze. The bronzes are particularly successful here, all stamped md on the back. I also found the one of the angel with the hammer on a piece of furniture by jacob-desmalter (1770-1841). They are finely made and we notice the beautiful reliefs (the palm leaves on the bas-reliefs of cherubs or the folded corners of the small frescoes at the foot of the uprights). The doors, facades and top are highlighted by an elegant line of darker marquetry. There are some slightly annoying cracks on the sides (due to the solid wood which creaks), two or three pale marks on the top and a few tiny repairs here and there but the piece of furniture is solid, stable, perfectly functional and in excellent general condition.
