This pair of wall lights is emblematic of the hopes and optimism towards atomic power as the epitome of progress and modernity in the 1960s. Designed in 1965 by the most influential Swiss architect and designer duo Trix & Robert Haussmann, these wall lights are a variation on their “Lichtstruktur” floor lamp - also produced by Swiss Lamps International in Zurich. Each wall light features four large E27 light bulbs on a frame made from chromium plated aluminum tubes which are connected by white plastic elements resembling an atom. The lights are in good working order and currently wired for European voltage. On one of the lights a rivet is missing near the wall mounting. Trix & Robert Haussmann's work spans a period of over 50 years and encompasses almost everything, from train stations to bars, from restaurants to shops, from houses and galleries to plates and textiles. These wall lights were part of their early collaboration and are an excellent example of 1960s futuristic design. Dimensions: Depth: 20 cm, Diameter: 23 cm. Packed with extra care for safe shipping! And like with most of us, the internal struggles are not always visible to the outside world. Our second-hand items may not fulfil state-of-the art safety standards and codes in your region. Inner faults may exist that were missed by us. Please always consult with a certified professional before installing any electrical items.
