Gallé art nouveau desk

Very rare desk in mahogany and precious wood veneer, the top is fretted and inlaid with decoration of flowers and butterflies, resting on four molded and sculpted legs. Magnificent inlaid signature "gallé a nancy". Note the bronze sabots, synonymous with high quality. Circa 1900. Reference: "gallé furniture" by a.duncan and g. De bartha, p.165.
