Very beautiful original watercolor on paper by Maurice Le Nestour (1929-2014), painter and former chief decorator of the Paris Opera. Titled "Cathedral from the Port," this work created in May 1994 represents a city view dominated by imposing religious architecture, bordered by a watercourse. The artist subtly plays with shades of blue, green, and ochre, offering a bright and harmonious composition. The perspective, reflections in the water, and the finesse of the architectural treatment give this watercolor a lot of charm. Signed and dated "LE NESTOUR MAY 94" at the bottom right. Maurice Le Nestour was chief decorator of the Paris Opera starting in 1971. His professional archives are now preserved at the National Library of France (BnF). Dimensions: * Watercolor: 37 × 57 cm * With frame: 53 × 73 cm Work presented under glass, with matting and framing.
