Vintage Mid Century Framed Oil Painting - Evening Walk

An energetic and picturesque landscape on a cool blue summer’s day. The painting depicts rows of colourful buildings, and a bridge passing over a river in a charming city. Here, the artist has rendered rich and vibrant colours, that wonderfully capture the liveliness of the city. Painted in an impressionist manner, swift and spontaneous brushstrokes are evident, with each brush mark visible and distinct. Furthermore, the way the artist has captured the reflection of the building on the water surface with a painterly pattern of rhythmic strokes is simply outstanding. This oil on canvas is in good vintage condition. There are some areas of craquelure (fine cracks in the paint), that are not obvious unless inspected up close. It is housed in a robust wooden frame with a white inner lining. The frame has multiple areas of chips and paint loss commensurate for its age (as shown in the pictures).
