Traditional carved wooden namji doll from cameroon, measuring 26 cm in height. Used as fertility and protection talismans, these statuettes are characteristic of the art of the namji (or dowayo) people and are distinguished by their rich and colorful ornamentation. This piece is decorated with red and yellow glass beads, carefully arranged on the body, arms, and legs. A cowrie shell and pearl necklace, accompanied by amulets attached to the waist, underlines its symbolic character. The carved face presents a typical stylized expression, with inlaid eyes and a hairstyle adorned with pearls and shells. A notable feature of this piece is the presence of metal on the ends of the feet and hands, a finish found on some namji dolls, either for aesthetic reasons or to protect the object from wear. This addition reinforces the quality and authenticity of the sculpture. The object has a beautiful patina of use, with visible signs of age on the wood, beads and metal. An ideal sculpture for lovers of tribal art and ethnic decoration. Dimensions: 26 cm high materials: wood, glass beads, cowrie shells, textile, metal period: mid to late 20th century condition: good overall condition, with patina and slight signs of wear.
