Overview. Rare Biedermeier demilune (half-moon) cabinet/console from France, circa 1810s. Curved front with a single central door and refined proportions, attributed to the Restoration period. Design. Neo-Classical / Biedermeier aesthetic with restrained lines and brass decorative mounts. White marble top with a rounded front edge that slightly overhangs the case for elegant contrast. Materials. Veneered cherrywood case (partly ebonized) with visible vertical grain on the curved front. Decorative brass leaf ornaments, brass escutcheon and brass sabots on the front legs; internal compartments in pine. Storage. One central door opening to internal compartments, suitable for small items and organisation. Flat back designed to sit flush against a wall, ideal for hallways or behind a sofa. Dimensions.
