Iconic and emblematic piece of 1930s design. The “continuously adjustable chaise longue” consists of two independent elements: the base and the cradle. The cradle - whose shape follows the curves of the human body - appears to float on its base and can slide without any mechanism in a continuous motion, allowing for any type of inclination while remaining stable due to the friction of the steel with the rubber that covers the crossbars of the base. The mattress is in perfect condition and the headrest is made of black leather. Le Corbusier described it as the “true machine for resting” and stated that he envisioned, while designing it, the cowboy smoking his pipe, sitting with his feet in the air resting on the edge of the path. Signature on the tubular frame with the serial number 78150. The base is also signed CASSINA Le Corbusier. It is in perfect condition and has always been very well maintained. Non-smoking home.
