Rare dining table "M1" designed by Angelo Mangiarotti for Tisettanta, made entirely of Grigio Carnico marble from the Friuli region in Italy. This marble is known for its deep dark gray tone with strong white veins that give each piece a unique, almost pictorial character. The veins of this example are particularly expressive: they evoke prehistoric rock drawings, birch silhouettes, and abstract landscapes, as if the surface were a living fossil. Mangiarotti's design language is defined by pure geometry and perfect proportions. The conical base elegantly merges into the fine circular top, creating a light and balanced silhouette. The proportions are exceptionally well resolved — a perfect tension between weight and delicacy. The continuity of the veins between the base and the top reinforces the sculptural unity of the piece. This is an early Tisettanta production, identifiable by the distinctive shape of the upper part of the conical base and the way it connects to the marble top — subtly different from later Skipper productions. On the underside, remnants of the original serial number label are still visible. Another beautiful detail is the original gypsum layer inside the base, where fine cracking clearly reveals its age. All these details underscore the authenticity of the table and its origin from the late 1960s / early 1970s. For decades, the marble was protected by a thin layer of epoxy — a common practice at the time. We carefully removed this layer and hand-polished the surface, revealing the original depth and richness of the stone. The result is a vibrant surface with a deep gray tone and striking natural patterns, preserved in remarkable condition. Condition: very good to excellent. No cracks, chips, or scratches. Only slight natural signs of age and use. The top has been fully polished and shows its original depth and shine once again. A rare and characterful example of this iconic model. The last photo was taken during the restoration process. After that, the table was polished. More photos available upon request. Literature: Domus n. 478, September 1969, p. D/471. G.
